Tuition

Tuition for FAA’s MA program is calculated per session.

Summer 2024 (July 1 – August 2): $8,900
Summer 2025 (June 30 – August 1): $10,500
Summer 2026 (July 6 – August 7): $11,000

To reserve their place, students will pay a non-refundable deposit within two weeks of the date of the notice of acceptance.

Tuition at FAA is established annually by the Board of Trustees and is subject to change each year.

Methods of Tuition Payment

FAA accepts bank transfers and Zelle. FAA requires a non-refundable deposit upon acceptance and final payment by May 1. If you fail to make tuition payments, FAA reserves the right to bar you from class, withhold grades, withhold diploma and/or transcripts, and/or to enforce suspension.

Tuition Refund Policy

The balance of tuition fees will not be refunded after May 1. In order to receive a refund of the balance of tuition fees paid each year, students must withdraw before that date referring to the year of study in progress. After this date, the Withdrawal policy will take effect.

Deferment Policy

Students may defer their acceptance for 1 year if written notification is received by March 1. The accepted student who requests deferment will automatically be enrolled in the following year’s program. If no notification is received, or if the accepted student needs more than one year of deferment, the student will need to reapply when they are ready to attend the program. Please note that due to each enrollment cycle being unique, that admission is not guaranteed when re-applying. This is true even if you have been accepted into the program previously and need to defer for more than one year.

Drop

Dropping a course refers to removing a course from your schedule before the add/drop deadline. Due to the nature of the program and studio based schedule, in the MA there no add/drop options for single courses.

Withdrawal

Withdrawing from a graduate program, means that you are ending your enrollment in the program completely. This can be done for a variety of reasons, such as financial difficulties, family emergencies, or academic struggles. Withdrawing from a program will affect your GPA and transcript. You may withdraw from the program at any time. Students that choose to withdraw will not be eligible for a tuition refund and must still pay any outstanding balances owed to the school (scholarships / aid etc.). You will receive a “W” grade for the program when you withdraw. If you wish to withdraw, you must do so by writing to the registrar. Withdrawals are counted immediately from the date requested, and are no longer considered as an enrolled student.

Incomplete

In a Graduate Program, an incomplete (I) grade is a temporary grade assigned to a course when a student is unable to complete all of the coursework due to extenuating circumstances beyond their control. For instance, a student may have experienced a serious illness, family emergency, or other significant event that prevented them from finishing the course work on time. Academic progress will be discussed with the faculty and Program Director to determine any subsequent requirements to fulfil the learning outcomes.

Teaching Assistantships

Loans are not currently available for this program. A limited number of teaching assistantships are awarded to students who enter their 3rd year of the program. Many school districts offer full or partial tuition for Master’s programs, make sure to check with your administration for tuition assistance.
